Swimming for USA Swimming team, CSAA and the summer Carol Stream Park District Swim Team, she continued to improve as an age group swimmer attending Junior Olympics and as a Zone Qualifier. As a High School Swimmer, she swam all four years on Varsity and swam at State during her Junior year. Coach Lynn Horihan swam while at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. Coach Lynn Horihan started coaching at the age of 16 for CSAA for the novice team. She continued to coach for CSPD and West Lafayette's LAF USA team working with age group and high school swimmers. Upon completion of her Bachelor's of Arts in Secondary Education from Purdue University, Lynn's first full time job was with Westmont Swim Club under Coach Tom Coons. She continued to work for Westmont Swim Club and the Carol Stream Park District until her move to Oregon.
Coach Lynn Horihan moved to Oregon in September of 2004 with her husband Jason Horihan. Since moving to Hillsboro, she has had two boys (William age 11 and Matthew age 8) and has worked for the Tualatin Hills Park District and the Oregon Athletic Clubs. While at OAC, she coached and taught a variety of ages and abilities in swimming. Her 7 years as Master's Swim Coach and Age Group Swim Coach rekindled her desire to go back into teaching high school and USA Swimming. With her family's blessing, she is back to teaching and coaching. She is looking forward to working with the Glencoe team to gain in size and speed for her fourth season. Coach Horihan will be Assistant Coach for the 2017-2018 season
