Attendance

- To Letter as a Varsity Athlete as a High School Swimmer
- Score 10+ total points at Dual Meets or
- Attend 90% of all swim team practices
- Attend all high school dual meets and team meetings
- Communicate with Coaches regarding any conflicts with meets, practices, or meetings
- Score 10+ total points at Dual Meets or
- To Letter as a Varsity Athlete as a Competitive Swimmer who swims Club
- Score 10+ total points at Dual Meets
- Attend all club team practices
- Attend all high school dual meets and team meetings
- Communicate with Coaches regarding any conflicts with meets or meetings
- Score 10+ total points at Dual Meets
- To Letter as a Junior Varsity Athlete
- Attends a minimum of two swim team practices weekly and/or dual meets.
- Swimmer will communicate with Coaches regarding missed practices & meets.
- Attends a minimum of two swim team practices weekly and/or dual meets.
Attendance
- Athletes are expected to attend all practices and meets, including weekends, school breaks, and Final Exams. Practice and meet schedules are online; any changes will be announced as soon as possible.
- Attendance will affect your performance, team goals, and line-ups for meets.
- If an athlete cannot attend practice, they must notify the coach in advance of the missed practice. E-mail is the preferred method. If an athlete is in school, they are expected at practice. If a conflict arises, the athlete needs to communicate with the coach directly. Do not send a message thru someone else.
- Coming late/leaving early will affect your attendance rate. If you are late, you will join practice already in progress. A separate lane will not be available.
- Club swimmers will have to communicate with their high school coach their intentions and attend all club practices. Communication will need to happen on a regular basis that they are attending club practices. Club swimmers will have to attend team meetings in order to participate in meets. Conflicts will have to be communicated with coaches.
- All athletes will abide by the Hillsboro School District and Glencoe Student Handbook policies.
- Treat all Glencoe Staff and Faculty with respect.
- Treat all Hillsboro Park District Employees with respect.
- Athletes will keep our team areas (home and away) neat and clean. Equipment bins put away, garbage thrown away, and personal items stored properly.
- Athletes will bring School ID each time to check in at SHARC.
- We will display sportsmanship at all meets and treat opponents, officials, and fans with dignity and respect.
- Hazing will not be tolerated at any level.
- Athletes are expected to maintain a high academic standard.
- Academic eligibility reports are turned in weekly. Any athlete on probation will have a meeting with their coach.
- If an academic concern or issue arises, the athlete should communicate with their coach as soon as possible.
- Grade checks will allow swimmers to make sure they are maintaining good academic standing
- Athletes are expected to be available for participation in all meets. Line-ups will be posted as early in the week as possible. Coaches will do their best to make sure all athletes have an opportunity to compete.
- Athletes are to remain on deck and in uniform during the entire swim meet. No one should be hanging out in the locker room or in the stands. Coaches will dismiss the team after the meet.
- Headphones are not allowed at meets, unless directed by a coach. No phones, texting, or picture taking during a meet.
- Everyone will ride the bus to and from away meets. Away meets are considered any pool not at SHARQ. Bus departures and times will be announced during the week. The exception will be swimmers released to their parents with the coaches permission only at meets held at the SHARQ.
- Everyone must have at a minimum an all black swim suit. Glencoe swim suits will be available for purchase. Athletes will not be allowed to wear club suits.
- Athletes will wear Glencoe apparel only during meets. No clothing or apparel from other teams, activities, or clubs is allowed at meets. Black and Red colors or other issued Glencoe apparel is to be worn. Athletes are to wear Glencoe apparel when receiving awards at meets.
